Free for all, Fontstruct is a powerful tool given to the world by Rob Meek and Font Shop. It is also the latest thing to keep me from going to bed at a reasonable hour. Using simple shapes such as circles, squares, triangles and just a few more, you can create your own typefaces for download and publish. The user interface is stripped to its bare essentials that give you both guiding restriction and ample freedom. A great tool in its own right, Fontstruct has also brought a new place for people to gather and discus typography.

I also found a quick interview with the brainchild of the project that is posted on TypeRadio (that’s right, audio interviews about a visual information) that you can get through their site or as a podcast through iTunes.

Thank for this, Josh! I cannot wait to make one of them. Certainly easier than Fontographer.
