In my free time, I’m a movie junkie. I’ve seen too many movies. And my favorite are the ones that take the most advantage of the sound quality available to me at home. So when I saw this video about the THX sound I immediately identified: that’s what I would love it to feel like. Batuhan Bozkurt of Turkey decided to do one better: he wanted to recreate the sound. The article from his blog EarSlap will tell you all about it, but he used some more information from the blog Music Thing, which shares:
There are many, many random numbers involved in the score for the piece. Every time I ran the C-program, it produced a new “performance” of the piece. The one we chose had that conspicuous descending tone that everybody liked. It just happened to end up real loud in that version.
