Just in case you didn’t come in that way this morning, the 205/225 Michigan entrance has been re-opened. The entrance looks pretty snazzy. I can’t even remember what the old one looked like.

I was down there Friday and noted that, besides the beautiful red thing, the entrance is just cleaner. The doors are floor-to-ceiling glass and there are new entrances for the businesses on that level. The floor and escalators are the same. Quite nice!
And amazingly, it only took about a year to complete! Top that, Mr. Trump!
Now the FedEx guys won’t be so lonely any more! They’ve been boxed in for so long…..
To Jeff’s point that he can’t even remember what the old entrance was like … well sorry, I don’t feel the effort was worth it. How long did it take? Nine months? A year? And all they really did was replace the revolving doors, add some more glass and throw up a wavy red canopy that would probably make Mies spin in his grave. Aesthetically it doesn’t match any of the entrances of the three buildings in the Illinois Center complex either. I hope they don’t decide to mess with the entrance on South Water street.
Someone called the red thing a “tongue.”
I like that.
