We’re going to do it! There’s a good strong eight or ten of us participating in the Commuter Challenge here in Chicago. Won’t you join us — heck, we can even meet somewhere and ride into the city together! Maybe you can sign up your organization. From the Chicagoland Bicycle Federation site:
The Bicycle Commuter Challenge dares companies to earn the highest percentage of employees to use their bike for some or all of their commute during Bike to Work Week, June 7-13.

So…How is it going? Has the group grown, shank, stayed the same? You know, I have an idea that might help keep the team motivated (if they need a little motivation, that is:)). I was talking to some people I know that ride to work every day. Of course, I live in California so that is much more appealing 12 months out of the year than in Chicago. I personally keep saying that I am going to start working out but it’s always really optional in my mind. Maybe I’ll make it and maybe I won’t. They said I was thinking about it all wrong. It is not an option. Instead, think of it as ‘cycling is the only way I have to get to work’ period. When you start thinking about it that way then it is much easier to just do it – even when it is the last thing you feel like doing.
The group has pretty much stayed the same. I have the same problem: some days it’s just easier to ride and some days it’s just easier to take transit. But, you’re right: it should just be part of the day’s commute and there’s no exceptions.
