So, in case you’ve missed it, Microsoft made an unsolicited bid for Yahoo a little over two months ago. Since then, both parties, as well as many outside parties, have entered the conflagration. Yahoo rejected the initial bid, Microsoft started talking to News Corp to do a dual acquisition and now there are rumors that Yahoo is talking to Time Warner to acquire AOL. Additionally, it appears that Yahoo will start running Google Ads within their own search results.
All in all, it’s crazy out there on them intertubes. I think Michael Arrington of TechCrunch said it best though:
It’s time to end this thing before Yahoo ends itself. I don’t care if they throw AOL, MySpace, and half the rest of the Internet into the deal along with Yahoo. But the health of the Internet demands a counter balance to Google. Yahoo-Microsoft, given the current state of things, is the only reasonable outcome.
I have to agree. In order to avoid a monopolistic atmosphere, it appears that is the only way to go.

Geek to geek: the matrix is trying to find balance to the anomaly.
