Stephan Ban gave a very informative presentation during one of our last staff meetings, but the one thing that really stuck with me was that his meetings with his marketing company were “the highlight of his day”. As such, I’ve been thinking about that lately and it’s given me a new perspective on some of my client interactions.
Coincidentally, I found this video on Vimeo the other day:
You’ll notice that they give a sneak peak into an upcoming user interface for their embedded video player. The video is primarily geared towards current Vimeo users, but anyone who is unfamiliar with Vimeo and their features can also learn about them. I was wondering how we could do the same in our creative process here. The dilemma I’m having is – do we get clients involved early on and risk showing work, even if it’s still rough? My gut says probably not, but from what Stephen Ban said, wouldn’t they love to be a part of the creative process as well?
So here’s a question for my fellow slackers (and anyone else who wants to chime in): Do you risk showing work that is incomplete to clients and giving them the wrong impression or should you get them more involved early-on which can be fun and ultimately create a better product on the back end?

It‘s quiet in here! Why not leave a response?
