While I have had work experiences that range from Be Kind Rewind to the Boiler Room, one thing that remains constant is the feeling of the first day.

If you have ever had a job, and if you haven’t you probably shouldn’t be reading this anyway, then you know exactly how it feels to walk into a company and hope to not be over-dressed, drink from the CEO’s sippy cup, or forget how to use Microsoft Word, the reality is this things may happen.

You really just have to relax and rely on doing the things that got you hired. Noone expects you to increase the company’s assets on your first day. Just make sure you are on time, do a lot of nodding in the first meeting, and by all means, don’t be the conversation killer at the lunch table.

Everyone has been very welcoming, which as we all know helps anyone in a new situation. So, if I haven’t met you, don’t be surprised if I walk up and say hello. I sit over by Dawn and I am here all week folks.
