Flickr LogoI know many of our folks here are avid Flickr users, but I thought some of our readers would also be interested in this. My grandmother in Germany has limited internet access and such, we try and send her a flash drive full of pictures and videos so she can look at them directly from the media. As I’ve collected a number of pictures over the past year and keep them all on Flickr, I needed a quick and easy way to get them to one location to transfer them to my flash drive.

Here comes two programs to help with that: Flickr Backup and Flickr Down. I’ve seen Flickr Backup reviewed on a number of different websites and each time people say it’s great, but I downloaded it and tried to get it to work, but couldn’t. Flickr Down, I found as an alternative and it works, but is a little clunkier than Flickr Backup (I assume from screenshots).

Either way, Flickr really should provide some sort of utility to backup and download all of your pictures stored on there instead of users having to rely on third party software. Drop us a line if you know of a better solution out there.
